About Us

Driven by Passion. Powered by Data. Built on Experience.

Hunter Racing Kawasaki Team Green is an elite amateur motocross race team in the mid-atlantic region. Founded by brothers Chris and Stephen Hunter to develop the next generation of racers — and support the families who make it possible.

Chris is a veteran racer and software engineer with over 20 years of leadership experience at Fortune 200 companies, while Stephen brings top-level business expertise as a general manager in one of the nation’s largest automotive groups. Together, they blend professionalism, mentorship, and a lifelong passion for racing.

Our Approach

Our approach goes beyond racing — we provide access to expert training programs, advanced bike setup guidance, sponsorships and professional image development to help riders become the total package.

By using structured team budgets, we help reduce the financial burden on families so they can focus on what matters most: elite-level training, exposure, and growth.

And yes — we use data, A LOT.

Through the Motopivot platform built by Chris, we analyze lap times, segments, and performance metrics to find riders who might have been overlooked or undervalued. Those are the stories that drive us.

Our Vision

Hunter Racing has already earned multiple amateur national titles, and we plan to win many more.

With Kawasaki support for 2026–2027, elite partners like Moto Sandbox and Alpha Dynamics, and a clear roadmap toward 250 Pro Supercross, our mission is simple:

Build champions — on the track, in life, and within the motocross community we love.

Our History

Entering into 250B Mod Class Racing

In 2025 we continued with Trinnytie Batchelor racing 250B LTD and moving into 250B Mod for Loretta's. Christian Merman raced 450B LTD and the 250B Mod class. We also worked with Dannyn Reed who raced the 125 Schoolboy classes. We had a strong showing at Loretta's with several podium finishes. Trinnytie had the 2nd fastest lap time of the week as well.

2025

Three Rider Team

In 2024 we added two riders to the team, with Trinnytie Batchelor racing the 125 Schoolboy class and Christian Merman racing the 250 B classes. We also helped Klark Robbin's earn his Orange Brigade ride and did a unique joint support arrangement with the family that had him continue to run our logos while on the Factory GasGas amateur team.

2024

Team Focus Shift

After the experience racing the pro nationals in 2022, we made the conscious decision to focus on helping amateur riders. Filling the gap between elite amateur privateers and factory rides. We started working with Klark Robbin's, winning two Loretta's Amateur National titles in the 125 schoolboy and 125 B/C classes.

2023

Team Founded

Hunter Racing MX originally was established to support our own racing efforts, going back to 2002. In 2022 we decided to help the first rider that wasn't a family member. Taking our racing connections and sponsorships back to the pro nationals. Supporting a local NJ rider Jeremy Smith, even getting points at the Red Bud National.

2022

Re-Ignition

After many years of not racing, Chris and Steve decided to get back into the sport. Chris started racing again in 2019, and in 2021 decided to try racing Loretta Lynn's again in the 40+ class. Finishing 2nd overall. This experience reconnected us within the sport in a way that set us on the course we're on now.

2021

Chris and Steve build their families and careers

During this time Chris and Steve were building their professional careers. Chris graduated from Drexel University going into Software Engineering and Management while Steve worked his way through the car business. Although these years were not focused on motocross, Chris raced Downhill mountain biking at a high level, even winning the US Open in the 30+ Expert class in 2017.

2004 - 2019

Significant Amateur Racing Successes

As a family we continued to race amateur nationals, Chris finished in the top 10 every year for 8 years straight, even finishing 2nd overall in 1998 in the 250B class. Steve also had many impressive results during this time. Chris raced Pro Nationals in 2003, qualifying for 7 out of 7 rounds entered. Although never finishing with points, he was 21st two times!

1994 - 2003

Racing Inception

Chris started racing in 1991, he was 10 years old and has been racing ever since.
